2023 Frankly Kanimbla Red

From the famous Kanimbla Vineyard. One of the wettest and coolest vineyards in Australia. At least in recent memory. A tough growing season to get to this wine. On and off rain and only a few warm days. Hard to keep disease at bay when you have those conditions. Picked very late in 2023 so the wine is bigger in alcohol this year. But this wine was make to be pretty. It is 85% Pinot noir that was fermented with 25% whole bunches. Then towards the end of the ferment Cabernet Sauvignon was destemmed on top and macerated until it went dry. This is truly alpine red wine style. Every time you smell it there is something new to smell. Fascinating!
